• About Rachelle Harper

I started playing violin when I was 2 years old. I studied with Sanford (Sandy) Reuning and Joan Reuning, professional violinists and esteemed Suzuki Teachers in the greater New York area. I am so grateful for the gift of music in my life – I know my parents sacrificed to pay for lessons, and it has been a blessing to be able to find peace and strength in music throughout my life. I started teaching violin once my oldest son was taking music lessons, at the encouragement of his teacher. I started the process to become certified as a Suzuki Teacher, leveling up gradually so that my students could stay with me. It’s been a joy to grow in my depth as a teacher, and to be able to see my students’ journey over time.

My family is a huge part of my life, and keeps things real. As a mom of seven boys, I understand that consistency over time and patient encouragement will yield great personal growth. I enjoy being a mom. I am very lucky to teach lessons in my own home-studio, and many of my students’ siblings enjoy playing with my children in our backyard. I work to provide a place where students and families are welcome and comfortable during their lessons.
